Places that shaped me
In one of the hotels we stayed at, the owner had a huge world map with a black push pin for every place he’d been. It was beautiful – so I tried to recreate it digitally for my own travels.
This is the fifth or so attempt. Turns out when you cluster black digital push pins, it quickly turns into an inkblot test, and I couldn’t get it to look good on a 2D map. So I did what every good developer does and overengineered the solution into a 3D globe.
Photos are coming whenever I get around to organizing a few decades of photos.
Ironically, I can’t remember where that hotel was. So the pin that started this whole thing is missing from the map. Oida!
